With more and more opportunities to share my passion for art...meeting and talking to other artists...showing my work...teaching classes in my studio and in other places in the area....and creating my own art...I burst with joy at becoming a part of this wonderfully creative community.

Hi All,
This year I seem to be wondering if fall has arrived early? As I notice touches of color in the trees I wonder where my summer has gone. My mother used to say, “the older you get the faster the days go by.” So, with that as my perspective I will blame it on age. ;)

As I prepared to write this newsletter I took time to look through photos from my summer. Each photograph made me smile and feel grateful for; my art making, time teaching and making art with others, meeting new people and for the time catching up with very, very old friends.

Hi All,

Busy summer! My gardens are beginning to bloom, I am loving the rain, hating the heat and humidity and trying to adjust to the speed at which the summer is going. It is hard to believe that the 4th is now in the rear view mirror and August is just around the corner.

There have been lots of opportunities to spend time in the studio as well as working with others through several Art As Therapy Workshops that I have taught at Twisted Fish Gallery. There is one more workshop scheduled for July 25th.

It is hard for me to believe we are almost halfway through June. There are still many opportunities to connect and make and create art together this summer. Continue reading to see the variety of opportunities available at Artzmaker Studio, Twisted Fish Gallery and the Oliver Art Center.

Patience…

This spring, as I began clearing away the winter from the perennial gardens, “patience” kept floating in and out of my consciousness. This garden, that had begun on a wing and a prayer four years ago, had taught me that there is nothing “fast” about creating a perennial garden. Each year of this adventure, I am seeing, learning and exploring with awe, the magic that happens with gardening.

I will be offering a workshop on May 19 at Twisted Fish Art Gallery in Elk Rapids, Michigan. It’s called Creating A Mandala; Finding Light in the Darkness*

Our winter in Williamsburg has brought back many fond memories of the winters I spent living in the UP. Our snow piles towered over my head. The snow drifts became beautiful art sculptures.

But to be honest with you I have begun to have a touch of Cabin Fever. Is anyone out there experiencing it.? As far as I am concerned it is time to quit isolating, have some fun, come together, ignore politics and create. How about joining me for a Cabin Fever Art Party. Let’s celebrate the coming of spring by creating some art together at the Artmaker Studio!
