Mixed Media

I have always looked at creating art like the making of a quilt.  Quilters weave stories using various fabric pieces and threads to tell a story.  But for me, working just with fabric was extremely challenging.  So handmade papers and fabrics with their lovely textures, thicknesses and transparency have become the materials for my ‘quilts.’  The use of paper allows me the freedom to use my hands to cut, tear, paint and sew. This, plus my use of layering, gives me the ability to express myself through my work and its stories.
