For many years, as I was growing up, I would spend time making resolutions. My list would include things I wanted to get rid of or stop doing. Inevitably, within a week or two, one by one my resolutions would be broken. Instead of creating anything positive, these resolutions were always self defeating.
One year it was suggested that I write down all the things I would want for myself. Thus began the journey toward creating a different type of list. Rather than taking a negative approach...I tried writing down things I wished to manifest for myself.
In looking back on the lists from previous years I am always taken aback by what hopes, dreams and wishes have manifested. Some came quickly, others have appeared on multiple lists, but there always seems to be some form of forward momentum towards a successful completion.
In the movie, “Field of Dreams,” Kevin Costner’s character hears a voice saying, “if you build it, they will come.” I admit to scoffing at the idea...that anything like this could actually happen... but....
Here are a few items from previous lists of mine that have manifested:
* I will create/publish a yearly calendar using my art work * I will spend time making art daily
* I will teach and share my love of art making with others * I will have someone to clean my house
* I will apply to enter art shows * I will find markets for my art
Here are a few that continue to make the list year after year:
* I will write a book
* I will take classes
* I will continue to build my circle of friends
So...how would you like to try this for yourself?
