Each workshop is a unique experience shaped by the host location, the group, and whatever Barbara has been most excited about making lately. Art as Therapy Workshop- “ Putting the Pieces Together”
This workshop will focus on creating your own collage using found materials, paper, words, stamps and images. No art skills are necessary to engage creatively.
We will have plenty of materials to work with, but guests are welcome to bring any of their own supplies that they would like to incorporate into their work - copies of personal photos, cards, anything you have personally collected you would like to include in your personal art piece.

Art As Therapy- “Tending to the Heart”
Sometimes matters of the heart are easy to identify…sometimes it my take a little coaxing. What is your heart needing? What is your heart searching for? What is your heart’s desire? Working from your heart space each guest will create their own heart message using all sorts of fiber materials.
All materials will be provided, but if you have special items that you ‘d like to incorporate into your work, bring them along.

'Art As Therapy' — Create Your Own Peace Stick
Peace sticks have been used across cultures for centuries as anchors for prayer, intention, and hope. In this Art As Therapy workshop at Twisted Fish Art Gallery in Elk Rapids, Barbara guides participants through creating their own — plus a community peace stick for the gallery garden. Refreshments included, no art skills needed.
3-Week Reduction Linocut Printmaking
Reduction linocut is a multi-color printmaking process where every cut is permanent and every edition is unrepeatable. In three Monday evenings at the Oliver Art Center, Barbara walks you through the entire process — and you leave with a finished set of prints that can never be made again.
Finding Your Heart
What does your heart look like? On Valentine's Day, Barbara invites you into Artzmaker Studio to find out. In this intimate two-hour workshop, each participant creates a one-of-a-kind soft sculpture heart to take home. Just six spots available — all materials included.
Foundations of Linocut Printmaking
There's nothing quite like pulling your first print off the press and seeing what you made. Join Barbara at the Oliver Art Center this February for a three-week introduction to linocut printmaking — no experience needed, all supplies included.
