The Red Door — Original Mixed Media

$600.00

There is a house in the birches, and it is impossible to look away from it.

The Red Door sits at the center of a grove of white birch trees, its boldly striped red and green walls stitched with ribbon and embroidery thread, a circular window hand-detailed in the peak of its roof, and a front door so carefully made it looks like a tiny work of art on its own. Behind the house, orange and gold light radiates outward through the trees in great warm swirls, turning the whole birch grove into something that feels almost sacred. A crescent moon hangs quietly in the upper left. Wildflowers bloom at the base of the birches below.

Barbara loves the way different materials feel against each other — and in The Red Door, that love shows in every inch of the surface. Paper, paint, ribbon, embroidery floss, thread, and buttons are layered together into a texture that rewards getting close. This is a painting you want to live with.

Original mixed media. 13" × 16", matted and framed. One of a kind.

This is an original painting — there is only one.
