Every scribble drawing begins the same way — a wild, free mark across the page, made without a plan or a destination. Then comes the magic: looking closely at those lines until something appears within them. In Love, what appeared was this — a child in a red sweater, arms wrapped gently around a white bunny, both of them perfectly still and perfectly content.
Look closely and you'll find them: the pink lines running through the drawing. Those are the original scribble. Everything else — the child, the bunny, the quiet warmth of the whole scene — grew out of that single spontaneous mark on the page.
That is the scribble drawing process, and it is Barbara's favorite kind of discovery.
