Welcome to the Artzmaker Studio
New Classes are Now Available!
The Artzmaker Studio is located near Traverse City, Michigan in a little town called Williamsburg. It is the place where I make my own art and would love to share my passion for creating art with others. My years of teaching art and over thirty years working as an art therapist has shown me how creativity and working together can feed our souls.
If you have always said to yourself “I can not draw a straight line” or have put your creative urges in the closet or on the back burner, the Artzmaker Studio is the place for you. My goal, as you venture into the studio, is to create a supportive safe space for you to open yourself up to the world of creativity.
The main rules in the Artzmaker Studio are: there is no right or wrong nor are art skills necessary. All it takes is an openness to explore, a willingness to learn, and a desire to create.
All ages and skill levels are welcome. Individual sessions and group classes can be scheduled.
The Studio is wheelchair accessible.

A Scribble A Day Keeps the Doctor Away
Have you always wanted to try to make art but were afraid and thought you would embarrass yourself so you have not tried ? Are you afraid of making mistakes? Have you heard yourself say out loud, “I can’t draw a straight line?” Are you interested in tapping into your own style of creativity but have been hesitant because of all the messages in your head? Are you afraid of being spontaneous? Are you fond of doodling and think it is nothing? Have you been blocked creatively? Well if you want to learn how doodling and spontaneity can work together,
this workshop is for you!
Just remember: All you need is a desire to play, learn and create with art materials.
It all begins with a large piece a paper, a light oil base crayon and an wild and crazy scribble on that feared piece of blank paper. The magic is that from the messy scribble lines something will appear. Look carefully at this piece of work here on the left. There are pink lines behind the images. This workshop might help set you free from all that has been tying you down! There are no mistakes!
You just never know where a scribble will lead. But what I can promise you is that for a few hours you will loosening up your body, work on going with the flow, laughing, playing with art materials and tapping into your own creative imagination.

Zendoodle - Doodle Your Stress Away
I know you have, at some time, created a ‘doodle,’ while waiting on hold or just hoping it might stir up a creative solution to a problem.
Well, Websters Dictionary actually has a definition for the word doodle... “aimless or casual scribble, design or sketch.” Zendoodling is an easy way to create beautiful images working with lines and creating repetitive patterns.
The focus of this workshop is the process of creating. But you will also find yourself relaxing into the work, leaving the world and its problems behind you. This will allow the piece you create to be meaningful and important to you...a beautiful piece of your own art.

Art Therapy Sessions
1 -1/2 hour session, $75.00
Art Therapy Sessions are a bit different from Individual Art Sessions. In every session making art will be the focus but the direction of the session will cover something that personally you want to work on. As a Board Certified Art Therapist, I have worked in medical settings and private practice for over thirty years. In those years I have shared with clients how art making can be used to promote wellness. Some of the areas I have worked with clients include chronic pain, relaxation, coping with illness, self esteem, grief, depression, eating disorders, aging, death of a love one or pet, relaxation, self expression, emotional well-being, anxiety, fear, life’s celebrations and just plain overall wellness. I also have a great deal of experience with 12 Step Programs that support individuals and families experiencing addiction.
